May 17-23, 2010: As a laureate of “Gwangju Prize for Human Rights” in 2006, Malalai Joya was a guest of honor on the ceremony of the 30th anniversary of May 18 democratic uprising of Gwangju in Republic of Korea. Invited by The May 18 Memorial Foundation, she attended the Gwangju International Peace Forum and delivered a presentation on the situation of Afghanistan and her activities since winning the prize.
